The business of making things pretty

Ever since I can remember I liked to enhance the appearance of things, to make them, as my child-self would say “prettier”.

My mother worked as a kindergarten teacher, so flowers were always present in our house, part of the decor, looking beautiful in the corner of my eye. In time they picked my interest, more and more, petal by petal, until my youth curiosity couldn’t take it anymore and had to try the ultimate test: make flowers more beautiful than they already are.

But making things already beautiful, even more beautiful takes time, skill and creativity. Seven years ago I attended a flower design course to learn new tips and tricks. It is after this course I saw that my passion could be more, so I decided to start my own small business in my free time: the business of making things pretty.

Making things already beautiful, even more beautiful takes time, skill and creativity.

This helped me more than I imagined. The time spent in the flower shop was like therapy, I was able to disconnect from all the things around and recharge myself with positive energy, gain balance and harmony and understand nature’s way of creating beauty and since nature has no limits, neither does this. Let your imagination go wild, use colors, smell, shape, size, counter the delicate tulip with the rough rose.

Turning a hobby into a business also helped me how to better organize my time, to create a good plan in order to respect the delivery deadlines and how to listen to people around me.  It helped me grow and develop.

That is how my passion was born... out of the pure desire to make things beautiful. Today, I enhance the beauty of flowers in the art of flower arrangements. I bring to life unique, eye-catching and balanced flower creations for different events or as gifts and even though, on a first glance, it might seem that my current job as a Senior Quality Assurer does not fit with my hobby, in reality the combination of these 2 help me grow on both professions and personal level.
